Ecco “Earth”, la canzone ecologista
Un inno con protagonisti diverse popstar per sensibilizzare e raccogliere fondi. Un’iniziativa che richiama quella di We are the World di trentaquattro anni fa. Solo che, questa, volta, il tema non è la fame nel mondo, ma l’ambiente e la sua tutela. Parliamo di Earth, il recentissimo singolo del rapper e comico statunitense Lil Dicky, scelto per celebrare la Giornata della Terra. A cantarla, con lui, star della musica pop come Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, PSY, Backstreet Boys, Halsey, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Wiz Khalifa, Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Katy Perry, SIA, Meghan Trainor, John Legend e altri ancora. Presente anche Leonardo Di Caprio: i soldi ricavati dal brano andranno proprio alle associazioni partner della Leonardo Di Caprio Foundation, impegnate per trovare soluzioni ai cambiamenti climatici.
Il videoclip inizia con immagini di incendi boschivi che colpiscono Los Angeles e dintorni. Poi, l’attenzione si sposta su Lil Dicky: il cantante incontra un gruppo di ragazzini che rovescia in strada un cestino dei rifiuti e chiede loro di raccoglierli. Il gruppetto rifiuta e ne segue un battbecco. Uno dei ragazzini, però, raccoglie invito e rifiuti. E nel farlo, trova un libro magico. È l’inizio di un racconto musicato con protagonista Lil Dick in versione “primitivo”. Ad accompagnarlo in questo viaggio nella Terra ecco un babbuino (voce Justin Bibier), una zebra (Ariana Grande) un koala (Ed Sheeran), un avvoltoio (Adam Levine), un canguro (Sia), una piantina di marijuana (Snoop Dog) e altri animali. Leonardo Di Caprio arriva alla fine. È sempre sulla prua del Titanic, ma stavolta invece di Kate Winslet abbraccia un globo in miniatura.
